This is a project I have taken up while under this virus lockdown.

I decided to go on a virtual vacation via Google Earth, Blender and OSM.

I have visited his photography locations, such as Mount Williamson.

& I did it all from my computer in the hopes

I could eventually recreate some of his work in the Unreal Engine.

The programs used :

Blender and the OSM plugin

World Creator 2
Zbrush

Substance

Quixel Mixer

Quixel Bridge

and UNREAL.

Ansel Adams, Mount Williamson, Sierra Nevada, from Manzanar, California, 1944.

And this is my attempt to recreate this scene...

There is more work to be done yet.

I need to shape my mountains in World Creator so they reflect the actual shape.  I seem to have lost some details of the foreground hills in the process.

and I plan to use Zbrush to help me recreate the main foreground rocks.
Most of this was done over two days.

I am only working with 3GB of VRAM here, so I am limited, unfortunately.

Here are some previous versions.

The end goal being a camera pan similar to this...

Once I get my World Creator textures and heatmaps looking more realistic,

I plan to move onto his other work, such as Yosemite Valley..

a real challenge indeed.
